About 60 percent of the Back Bay’s registered voters went to the polls Tuesday, and overwhelmingly chose to reelect Barack Obama and send Democrat Elizabeth Warren to the US Senate.
Obama received 7,601 votes in the neighborhood, or about 68 percent of votes cast. Republican challenger and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney received about 30 percent of the neighborhood’s votes with 3,318 votes, according to preliminary results complied by the Globe.
In the US Senate race, Warren received 6,919 votes, or about 62 percent, compared to incumbent Republican Sen. Scott Brown, who received 4,161 votes, or about 37 percent, the data show.
