Alex Lin, a freshman at Emerson College, made this timelapse photography video for his Media Arts Production class. He was inspired by a film called "Koyaanisqatsi" by director Godfrey Reggio, suggested by his professor.
Each scene, which lasts a few seconds in the movie, took about a half hour to film, he said in an e-mail. People left him alone for the project, with only a few curious glances from folks nearby. "I became a part-time photographer at Faneuil Hall," he said. "Over the two hours I spent there, I took about 10 family photos for those who wanted a picture with the giant Christmas tree."
Lin said he used a Canon 60D with a 30mm f1.4 lens and a shutter remote on a tripod.
