A local acupuncturist who has worked in the South End and the Fenway is holding a presentation in the Back Bay for adults and children.

Dr. Beth Sommers will host a presentation, “Healthy Kids & Families: Asian Medicine for Health & Wellness” Thursday, December 11, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Kingsley Montessori School.

Sommers, director of research and education at the non-profit Pathways to Wellness in the South End Community Health Center, will discuss self-care, and how traditional Asian medicine can help children and adults address stress and improve health as part of the Exeter Street school’s community speakers series. She will also offer free acupuncture demonstrations.

Sommers also co-founded the acupuncture programs at Fenway Community Health Center and Boston Medical Center.

The school is taking reservations for the free event.
