Bostonians with an eye for photography have a chance to learn new techniques while photographing the city’s scenic parks from the Boston Public Garden to Jamaica Pond.

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department is hosting “The Pics in the Parks” series, which offers free winter photography sessions every Sunday in February from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The informal sessions are open to photographers of all ages and skill levels and each Sunday session will offer a different theme for the photographers.

The winter photography sessions will begin on Feb. 3 at the Lagoon Bridge in the Boston Public Garden. The following sessions are scheduled for the Christopher Columbus Statue in Christopher Columbus Park on Feb. 10; the Jamaica Pond Boathouse on Feb. 17; and the Kelleher Rose Garden in the Back Bay Fens on Feb. 24.

Participants can register for the sessions by emailing Lauren.patrick@cityofboston.gov
