Back Bay teen joins National Honor Society at Boston College High School

A Back Bay teen and Boston College High School student has earned his place in the National Honor Society.

Seamus Matlack, a Back Bay resident and a junior at Boston College High School, was among 96 students in their junior and senior years to be inducted into the Robert J. Fulton, S.J. Chapter of the National Honor Society at a January 10 ceremony at Boston College High School’s Fahey-Hunter Commons.

The evening ceremony began with a processional march by the BC High Concert Band, followed by an invocation by Michael McGonagle, class of 1970, and vice principal of Ignatian Mission and Identity, and the band’s performance of the National Anthem.

Matthew Luongo, a senior from Plymouth and president of the school’s National Honor Society chapter gave a welcoming address.

The ceremony including the recognition of the officers, lighting of candles and a reading of the National Honor Society pledge.

Daniel Vannoni, co-founder of Codfish Gear and an alumnus of BC High was the guest speaker.
