While many Bostonians try to figure out what to do with the mounds of snow covering their cars, steps and yards, The Esplanade Associate wants to turn snow banks into snowmen.

The non-profit friends group that helps maintain and improve the Charles River Esplanade announced on Twitter and in an e-mail that it was hosting a “Flash Snowman Building Contest” Tuesday afternoon.

The contest will run from 12 to 3:30 p.m. at the Hatch Shell Oval with the snowmen being judged at 3:30. The winner will receive two tickets to the July 3 Boston Pops rehearsal concert at the Hatch Shell

Carrots will be provided.
