Voters in the 8th Suffolk district will cast their vote Tuesday in the primary race for state representative.

Democrats Josh Dawson, of Back Bay, and Jay Livingstone, of Beacon Hill, are running for the seat previously held by former state Rep. Martha “Marty” Walz.

Tuesday’s vote serves as the primary in the special election, but no Republican candidates are running for the seat.

The district encompasses parts of Back Bay, Beacon Hill, West End, the Fenway, Cambridgeport, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The district’s general election will be held on June 25, the same day as the US Senate special election.

Voters can find their polling station here.
