The following is a press release from the Beacon Hill Civic Association.

Beacon Hill residents are invited to a "Coffee with the Candidates" to be held at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29 at the Beacon House, 19 Myrtle St.

Taking part in the forum are the two candidates for state Representative of the 8th Suffolk District -- incumbent Democrat State Representative Marty Walz and her Republican challenger Brad Marston.

Also attending are the two candidates for state Senator for the First Suffolk Middlesex District: incumbent Democrat Senator Anthony Petrucelli and his Republican opponent Frank Addivinola.

Joan Berndt, a member of the BHCA board of directors, will serve as the forum's moderator. The format will consist of remarks by both candidates on local issues, followed by questions directed specifically to each candidate. No photos or filming may take place during the forum.

"Because BHCA is a non-partisan neighborhood organization, it is sponsoring this forum to encourage voter participation on Beacon Hill by educating residents about the views of the individual candidates on local issues," said Berndt. "This is not a debate."

Coffee and muffins will be served.
