Beacon Hill holiday stroll, tree lighting set for Thursday
Residents will be able to take an old-fashioned walk through Beacon Hill on Thursday when the historic neighborhood hosts its annual holiday stroll and tree lighting.
The annual event, sponsored by the Beacon Hill Business Association, will welcome Victorian carolers, the Apollo Men’s Chorus, and a strolling brass quintet to Charles Street to provide music to the holiday strollers while horse and buggies offer rides beginning at 6 p.m. Dec. 8.
Local shops will also be offering snack and refreshments before the neighborhood’s tree at the corner of Charles and Mt. Vernon Street is lit at 7:15 p.m.
The event begins earlier for children hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus. The man in red will be posing for photographs at Hill House at 127 Mt. Vernon St. from 3:30 to 6:45 p.m.
