Neighborhood businesses are donating a variety of products to a Beacon Hill raffle to help a local animal shelter.
Goods and services from shops around the neighborhood will be up for grabs at a raffle for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals on April 26.
The evening event will be hosted by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerages Chestnut Street branch and run from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $5.
Businesses such as Crush Boutique, The Beauty Mark, Clevergreen Cleaners, Beacon Hill Wine & Spirits, The Designers Leather Clothiers, Inc., Four Preppy Paws, Dakota Puffin Dog Boutique and Rouvalis Flowers & Gardens all donated items to the raffle.
The society is a private non-profit that offers animal protection and adoption, education, veterinary care, law enforcement, and advocacy.
“The MSPCA provides shelter and care to thousands of homeless and neglected animals each year and has ensured the successful adoption of dogs, cats, rabbits and other pets,” said Ariel Szabo, a sales associate at the real estate firm, who walks dogs for the organization and is on its fundraising board and organized this fundraiser.
The drawing also coincides with the MSPCA and The Humane Society of the United States’s Humane lobbying day. Animal advocates will be at the State House discuss animal legislation with elected officials.
