The Friends of the Belmont Public Library will hold its 39th annual book sale on Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Oct. 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the library, 336 Concord Ave.

A preview sale, from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 14, will be held for "super friends" and other library benefactors; the special status can be arranged through donations starting at $50, by cash or check, at the door or online at www.friendsofbelmontpubliclibrary.com.

The sale will feature children’s books for 50 cents, adult books ranging from 50 cents to $1.50, and art and coffee-table books for $3. On Sunday, shoppers will be able to buy a bag of books for $5. The event raises money to support library programs; last year’s session provided about $5,500.
