A free family safety day will be held in the Belmont High School Cafeteria on Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Parents can get their child's fingerprints, photographs, dental impressions and DNA samples to hold on to for safekeeping in case their child ever goes missing. Those items will be kept by parents, not police.

There will also be activities about bike safety, car seat installation, rail road crossing safety and computer and online security issues.

For more information, contact Lt. Santangelo at 617-993-2552 or rsantang@belmontpd.org.

The event is being organized by the Belmont Auxiliary Police. It is free.
