The West Nile virus threat in Belmont remains high this week, according to the Belmont Health Department, though no outdoor activities have been canceled.
Last Thursday, officials announced that a second human case of West Nile virus had been reported in Cambridge. Health officials raised the threat level from moderate to high following the discovery.
Residents are encouraged to use insect repellent and wear long sleeves, and to avoid outdoor activities at dusk and at night, when mosquitoes are most active.
