Belmont’s Community Preservation Committee will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 11 in Town Hall from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to educate residents about the Community Preservation Act and listen to ideas for how to spend Belmont’s CPA funds.

The Committee will discuss how to apply for CPA funding for community-based projects.

The CPA program allows cities and towns to assess a property-tax surcharge of up to 3 percent to pay for open space, recreation, affordable housing, and historical preservation projects, and the money raised locally is supplemented by state matching funds.

If you can’t make the meeting, you can call the CPA Hotline at 617-993-2774 or email mtrainor@belmont-ma.gov.
