Winslow Homer Holiday House to open in Belmont

The Winslow Homer Holiday House will open on December 15 and 16 in Belmont this year for music, art and mansion walks.

The 1853 Homer House will feature an exhibit of the onetime-Belmont resident’s illustrations of the early Victorian winter pastimes of skating, sledding and sleighing, according to a press release. Belmont Girl Scout Troops will carol on Saturday and Sunday, and the Community Youth Orchestra string ensemble will perform on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 1 p.m.

There will be a holiday bake and greens sale and a visit on Dec. 15 from Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Homer House is located at 661 Pleasant Street in Belmont. The hours are Saturday, Dec. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 16, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Children under five get in free.
