The following was submitted by Emily Levin, project manager for the Essex National Heritage Commission:

Essex Heritage and Hunt's Photo and Video invite all photo enthusiasts to capture Gloucester's historic working waterfront with the latest lenses from Sigma at the Essex national Heritage Area Photo Safari featuring Stigma on Saturday, June 16 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

At Maritime Gloucester, photographers can snap pictures of sea creatures in their own hands (or in touch tanks), panoramic views of Ten Pound Island, Rocky Neck, and the State Fish Pier, an ever changing parade of boats, and the oldest continuously operating marine railway in the country.

During the safari, photographers of all levels can expand their skills, try the latest lenses from Sigma - provided by Hunt's Photo & Video - and receive personal instruction from visiting professional photographers and Hunt's technical experts as they capture the heart of the city's waterfront and Gloucester's historic relationship with the sea. All participants will take home the images they captured on a digital memory card and receive a gift certificate from Hunt's.

This event is open to the public; reservations are required. Essex Heritage members $35/Non-members $45. For more information and to register visit www.essexheritage.org/photosafari or call (978) 740-0444.
