Beverly police are on the lookout for a suspect who robbed a Rite Aid Pharmacy on Cabot Street at knifepoint Monday night.

According to Officer David Costa, the drug store at 377 Cabot St. was robbed around 8:20 Monday night by a white male with a slim build, possibly 5 feet 8 inches or 5 feet 9 inches, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, dark navy blue jeans, and a red ski mask . The robber used a knife with a 12-inch blade.

The man entered the store, quickly walked around, then went behind the front counter and demanded that the clerk open the registers and give him the money. The clerk gave him money from two registers, which is estimated to be about $538. The robber then said, "Have a nice night ma'am," and then fled out of the store.

Costa added that no one was injured and this was not a pharmacy robbery. Detectives are still investigating the incident.

Employees from Rite Aid are unable to comment at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to contact the Beverly Police by phone at 978-922-1212 or by submitting a tip through their website
