Glen Urquhart student to compete in World Tap Championships

Isabella Lilly, a fifth grade student at Glen Urquhart School will be traveling to Riesa, Germany next week to compete in the World Tap Championships in December. She will be joining her peers from Nancy Chippendale's Dance Studio in North Andover, MA.  After auditioning for a place on the USA Tap Team this past summer, Lilly and her fellow dancers will represent the United States at the competition, which is also known as the “Olympics of tap dance”. The International Dance Organization (IDO) sponsors the event and the girls will be competing against tap dancers from over 30 countries around the world. The dancers last traveled to Germany in 2010 where they won five gold medals for the USA. The Chippendale dancers will be competing in a total of 21 dances in three different age categories.
