As the snow piles higher and higher in the city streets, the last thing anyone is thinking of is planting flowers.

Yet that is exactly what Thayer Public Library wants people to do.

The Friends of the Thayer Public Library are looking for locals with green thumbs to help beautify the library grounds come spring.

The first meeting will be held in early to mid-February to start the planning process, and “visionaries, planters, and maintainers,” are all welcome to brainstorm how to help spruce up the grounds.

Those interested should contact friendsofthayerpl@braintreema.gov or call 781-848-0405 ext. 4002 for more information on the group’s first meeting.
