A Braintree woman was arrested Tuesday evening after detectives allegedly found her in possession of uncut heroin.
According to police, officers had been investigating Deidre Reilly, 36, of Braintree for some time after receiving several reports of suspected drug activity at a Glenrose Avenue apartment.
On July 6, detectives watched Reilly meet up with another man and drive off in a black car. Reilly was dropped off a short time later close to her apartment. Although detectives questioned her, they did not find any drugs.
Reilly was followed again on the July 19, when detectives allegedly saw her and her companion, the same man as the week before, meet up again in Dorchester.
Detectives followed the couple back to Braintree and conducted a traffic stop after they got off the highway at Washington Street.
Reilly and the 35-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released, gave inconsistent accounts of their activities, police said.
A subsequent search of Reilly’s vehicle found her to be allegedly in possession of a quantity of uncut heroin.
She was arrested and charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act.
Reilly’s companion will be summonsed to court on the same charges.
