A 30-year-old woman and 26-year-old man, both from Braintree, will be charged with two counts of receiving stolen property after they were allegedly found with stolen merchandise from numerous South Shore Plaza stores, police said.

According to police, officers were patrolling the mall's parking lots in an unmarked car on Monday afternoon when a vehicle, operated by the Braintree man, allegedly cut them off.

The officers stopped the vehicle and learned that the man’s driver’s license had been suspended.

Officers observed a large pile of clothing in the back seat. Further observation found that the clothing had merchandise tags and size stickers on them. Additionally, a jacket from the Gap had a hole in it that officers believed was from an improperly removed security sensor.

Officers seized the merchandise when neither party was able to produce any receipts.

The man and woman, whose names have not yet been released will be charged with two counts receiving stolen property under $250, and one count receiving stolen property over $250.

In addition, the man was cited for operating after suspension and failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic.
