The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will begin repairing the overhead lights on Interstate 93 and Route 3 toward Braintree tonight, which may cause delays.
According to a release from the office of State Representative Mark Cusack, a Braintree Democrat, the repairs will occur from tonight to Feb. 17, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. There will be ramps in this area and possibly traffic congestion.
Although there may be some hiccups during repair times, Cusack said he is pleased with the progress.
“I have been working on this issue going back to my years in the Mayor’s Office, and since being sworn in last January, I have been on DOT to finally fix these lights,” Cusack said. “I am glad that this major safety issue is finally being addressed and will be resolved shortly. This will increase the safety of our residents and visitors to Braintree.”
“I am glad that these lights are finally being fixed and I thank Representative Cusack for getting this issue resolved,” said Braintree Mayor Joseph Sullivan.
