Braintree man arrested on child pornography charges
A Braintree man has been arrested for allegedly having child pornography.
According to police, the man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a search of his home uncovered what officers believed to be digital images of child pornography.
Police said they began investigating after a recent visitor to the suspect's home had observed some of the images while there.
Detectives received a search warrant and confronted the suspect, who cooperated with the investigation and assisted the detectives in recovering the items allegedly containing child pornography.
Robert K. Spring, Jr., 49, from Braintree was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the recovered images were produced as much as 15-20 years ago and are not believed to include any images of local residents.
Spring is slated to be arraigned Thursday at Quincy District Court.
