A Holbrook man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly driving under the influence and then crashing into a parked car.

According to police, officers were driving on Cedarcliff Road on Tuesday, March 27 when they discovered a damaged vehicle on the side of the street.

A man came up to them and said that a small, white vehicle, possibly a Toyota, had been traveling on the wrong side of the street and hit the parked car. The witness then said the car continued down the street before turning on to Shaw Street.

A second motorist called police also to report the erratic actions of a Toyota. The witness said that the car was driving with at least two flat tires.

Police caught up with the car on Pearl Street and discovered that two of its tires were flat and a third wheel was down to the rim.

Officers saw several indications of intoxication and noticed that a side view mirror left at the Cedarcliff Road accident matched the Toyota, which was missing a mirror.

William J. Tobin, Jr., 67, of Holbrook was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, second offense, and leaving the scene of an accident.
