Man arrested for alleged OUI

A Braintree man was arrested on Monday after allegedly crashing his car while driving under the influence.

According to police, officers arrived to find a single car crash at the intersection of Washington and Common Streets, with a BMW 528i partially on the island dividing Washington Street.

Tire marks were found nearby, leading officers to believe that the car jumped a second island before coming to rest, police said.

The suspect showed signs of possible intoxication and was placed under arrest after performing several sobriety tests.

As a result of the accident, Steven Fernandes, 27, of Braintree was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol (second offense) and failure to keep within marked lanes.

Couple charged with numerous drug possessions

A 20-year-old Belmont woman was arrested and a Quincy man taken to the hospital on Saturday morning after the pair was allegedly found hallucinating from drugs on the lawn of a Jefferson Street home.

Police said that neighbors called Saturday morning, saying that the couple appeared to be hallucinating.

When officers arrived, they discovered numerous sugar cubes wrapped in tin foil in the man’s pants pocket. Both individuals made statements regarding prior drug use as well.

A search of the woman’s backpack uncovered several sugar cubes wrapped in tin foil similar to her friend’s and a spoon with residue that later tested positive for ecstasy.

The female suspect also had 2 ¼ Suboxone pills, a small bag of marijuana, a prescipriton bottle in the name of another woman containing 15 Trazodone pills, and several other unknown pills.

Officers also discovered a small vile containing an unknown liquid later determined to be PCP.

Pauline D. McNeil, 20, of Belmont was arrested and charged with possession of PCP with intent to distribute, possession of Suboxone, possession of MDMA/Ecstasy, and possession of Trazodone.

The 20-year-old man, whose name has not been released as he has not been charged, was transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment.

He wil be summonsed to court on a charge of possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute.

Additional charges may follow once the unknown pills and sugar cubes are tested.
