Braintree police are investigating the theft of two semi-trailers that occurred sometime on Oct. 23 or 24.

According to police, officers responded to 10 Plain Street with the report of the stolen trailers, which were owned by the Liberty and Highland School PTOs, and were used for the storage of props and fixtures for the annual Haunted House fund-raiser.

The trailers have been used at the same location for the past 12 years, police said, and there has never been any issue.

Luckily this year, most of the equipment stored in the trailer had already been set up for use in this year’s fund-raiser, leaving only a few props stored in the trailer, police said.

The trailers were last seen on Oct. 23 at 8:30 p.m.

Police said the property manager did not authorize anyone to remove the trailers from the property.

Various other metal objects were also reported missing, police said, including a basketball hoop and pole.

Detectives are following up on the theft by have no leads at this time.

Anyone with information on the missing trailers is encouraged to call the Braintree Police.
