Man allegedly found with marijuana and “Special K”
A 25-year-old from Augusta, Maine, was arrested on Wednesday morning after allegedly crashing his vehicle while on drugs.

Police said the accident occurred at Five Corners. Responding officers said they found the man in an altered state, but uninjured. He was transported to South Shore Hospital.

A search of the man’s vehicle uncovered a gym bag in the truck containing several mason jars of marijuana, several large plastic bags filled with marijuana, and additional marijuana in a waterproof box, police said. The total weight was less than 19 ounces.

A backpack found in the car also contained almost $8,500 in cash, police said.

Officers also reported discovering a plastic bag on the passenger seat containing 39 grams of a white powder that later tested positive for katamine hydrochloride, also known as “Special K” on the street.

The money and the drugs were seized, police said, and the man placed under arrest.

His name has not been released due to medical privacy laws; however, he was charged with operating under the influence of drugs, trafficking in a Class A substance (ketamine), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and a drug-free school zone violation (nearby day care center).

Two charged with selling drugs
Two Braintree men were arrested Thursday morning after the men were allegedly selling prescription medication.

According to police, the first man was arrested at his home after detectives observed the suspect fill a prescription for Oxycodone last Thursday and then allegedly sell several pills to a second suspect.

Detectives had the first suspect’s home under surveillance after watching him fill the Oxycodone prescription at a local pharmacy. While watching the house, the second suspect pulled into the driveway, had a brief interaction with the homeowner, and then left.

The second suspect was stopped a short distance away and police said they discovered six Oxycodone pills in the suspect’s pocket. The man told police where he obtained the pills, police said, and he was arrested.

Detectives returned to the first suspect’s home and also arrested him.

William Kelly, 67, was charged with distribution of Oxycodone and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act.

Dario A. Ripaldi, 26, was charged with possession of Oxycodone.

Braintree man charged with pot, cocaine possession
A Braintree man was arrested Friday after police say he was allegedly dealing drugs.

According to police, the suspect had been the subject of an investigation into drug sales in and around Braintree for several months, and his home had been under periodic surveillance.

On Friday, while watching the house, detectives observed a Dodge Intrepid, occupied by three people, pull into the suspect’s driveway.

The men remained in the vehicle and the suspect left his home and approached them, met them briefly, then returned inside the house, police said.

The vehicle was stopped after it drove away. A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a bag of marijuana on the rear passenger floor, which police believed came from the suspect’s home.

Shortly after the car stop, detectives served a search warrant at the suspect’s home and seized marijuana, cocaine, and evidence of drug packaging, police said.

Matthew J. Mahoney, 20, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, distribution of marijuana, and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act.
