Braintree police are investigating a pedestrian accident that sent one man to South Shore Hospital.

According to police, officers cited a 19-year-old Braintree woman who failed to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Police were called to CVS in South Braintree Square shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday and found the victim, a 47-year-old Braintree man, laying on his side in the southbound lane of traffic.

He had facial injuries and complained of leg pain and was transported to South Shore Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A witness told officers that the man was coming from CVS and was crossing Washington Street in the crosswalk when he was hit.

The woman’s vehicle had minor damage to the front passenger side. Officers also found a marijuana pipe, packed with fresh marijuana, on the center console.

The woman, whose name has not been released as she has not yet been charged, did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The woman was cited for failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk and operating to endanger. She was also issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana.
