Bus accident leads to OUI arrest
A Pennsylvania man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after allegedly running a red light and crashing into a bus.
According to police, the suspect ran a red light at Five Corners early Tuesday morning, crashing into a bus operated by a 60-year-old Dorchester man.
Neither man was injured in the crash.
Police arrived shortly thereafter. Believing the suspect to be intoxicated, police asked the suspect to perform several sobriety tests.
At the conclusion of the tests, the suspect was placed under arrested and transported to the police station. A breath test conducted at the station showed a reading twice over the legal limit of .08 percent.
Bryan B. Persinger, 21, of Pittsburgh, PA was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, failure to stop for a red light, and operating to endanger.
Several arrested at underage drinking party
Six people were arrested and three more will be summonsed to court after police responded to a report of a loud party and possible fight at a Braintree home.
According to police, officers arrived at the Harrison Ave home early Saturday morning and spoke with the homeowner. After the homeowner began arguing with police, police attempted to arrest him.
Police said the suspect hit an officer twice in the head and had to be subdued with pepper spray.
Several others were arrested at the drinking party for being under the age of 21.
According to police, Connor J. Norton, 19, who lives at the home was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, threats to commit a crime, and being under 21 in possession of alcohol.
Thomas J. Cleggett, 19; Brandon M. Jones, 18; William T. Sawyer, 18 – all of Braintree were arrested alongside North Quincy resident Kevin R. Lynch, Jr. 19; and Weymouth resident Joseph M. Clifford, 19.
All five men were charged with being under 21 in possession of alcohol.
Three additional people are being summonsed to court on the same charges. Those suspects are from Weymouth and Braintree, and range in age from 17-20.
