The woman that allegedly drove her car into the Wollaston T station has died, transit police said Friday.

On their blog, Transit Police said the driver, identified as 78-year-old Mary Mullaney from Quincy, had died after suffering a medical emergency Thursday morning and driving her car into the station.

The cause of death was being investigated, and an autopsy was scheduled for Friday, transit police said.

According to police, the accident occurred at 10:25 a.m. on Thursday, when Mullaney apparently suffered a medical emergency and lost control of her vehicle while driving on Woodbine Street.

The car drove down several concrete steps and into the front doors of the Wollston MBTA station, wedging a 57-year-old man to the entrance doors.

Quincy Police said when emergency personnel arrived, the driver was unconscious and police performed CPR.

Both the driver and pedestrian were transported to area hospitals.

Quincy Fire officials did not respond to calls regarding the status of the pedestrian. Transit police declined to release any further information.
