A Suffolk University Law School student died after a fall from the third floor of a building in Brookline Saturday during a pre-graduation party, police said.
The student, Chris Civali, 27, of Watertown, died from his injuries Sunday at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Brookline Police said they responded to a home on Atherton Road Saturday at 10:30 p.m. for a report of a medical emergency. Police found Civali on the ground suffering from head injuries and emergency workers attempted to resuscitate him and administered first aid before he was taken to the hospital.
Police said Civali fell from a third-floor sliding door that did not lead to a balcony. The door was open when Civali fell out, police said. The fall has been ruled accidental, police said.
In a statement, Suffolk University President David J. Sargent said Civali was a third-year law student, and the school’s thoughts and prayers are with his family.
In a separate incident over the weekend, a Cambridge man died after a fall from rooftop.
