Fans of the Sherborn-based band State Radio will be joining the yearlong effort to reduce the Brookline Community Foundation’s carbon footprint Saturday.

That’s when about 50 members of the band fan club’s community service arm will descend on the nonprofit organization’s 150-year-old headquarters at 40 Webster St. Local volunteers have dug under the building to make room for a concrete basement, added insulation to walls and attic, and installed a new boiler.

Next weekend’s work should include waterproofing the basement, removing asphalt shingles, and insulating, according to foundation member Gwen Ossenfort.
