A man who police said was wanted in connection to 20 residential burglaries in Brookline this summer was arrested by authorities in Florida Monday.

Robert Forsyth, 55, was arrested in front of his Florida home by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office. Brookline Police are now seeking to extradite Forsyth to Massachusetts to face charges of receiving stolen property.

Brookline Police have been looking for Forsyth since July for a string of break-ins that began in May, including several along Beacon Street, University Road, Saint Paul Street and Brown Street. Most of the burglaries occurred during the day.

During their investigation, Brookline Police learned Forsyth had residences in Roslindale and Tampa, Fla. Detectives contacted the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office in Tampa, which then arrested Forsyth without incident, police said.
