Brookline police report some streets closed, wires down

Brookline police reported Warren Street is closed out at Lee Street, and warned commuters to expect delays on Lee at Route 9, as Monday's commuters began to face the day after Tropical Storm Irene knocked out power and knocked over trees throughout the region.

Police in Brookline also reported that power was out on Gibbs Street and on Middlesex Road, and that there was a live wires down on Woodland. You can follow the Brookline police on Twitter @BrooklineMAPD.

Brookline selectman Jesse Mermell reports that power seems to be restored throughout Washington Square and The Point neighborhood, but that some residents complain that their cable TV is out.

Elsewhere in the region, the MBTA said it was resuming "normal service with some residual delays'' this morning. The Riverside T parking lot is closed because to remove trees.
