As part of the Oct. 24 national Food Day, Brookline will celebrate healthy, affordable, unprocessed food. Allandale Farm will sell apples and cider at Town Hall and Brookline’s K-8 schools will serve vegetarian moussaka at lunch. The Health Department will explain the “healthy eating plate’’ created by Harvard School of Public Health as a proposed substitute for the food pyramid, and selectmen will honor programs with healthy food goals, including Allandale Farm, Bountiful Brookline, the food pantry, and the schools’ food services department. For more information, call 617-730-2336 or visit www.foodday.org.
