The suspects behind an armed robbery of a Brookline service station Thursday night are still on the loose, but police say they found the getaway vehicle nearby with the engine running this morning.

The minivan was discovered at 6 a.m. on Wolcott Street, about eight hours after police said it was used in a robbery at JD Service Station at 320 Newton Street in South Brookline.

Brookline Police said a man described as wearing a mask and all black clothing entered the service station at 9:42 p.m Thursday, showed a gun to a clerk and took money from the register before fleeing into the waiting van that fled on Grove Street.

No one was injured in the robbery, and police say they have recovered surveillance videotape of the crime. Police said the van was empty when police found it about a half mile from the service station.
