A hot air balloon, entertainment and more than 70 vendors will highlight the first Brookline Day Festival that will be held this Sunday in Larz Anderson Park.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 in the park located off of Newton Street in South Brookline, according to the town’s Recreation Department.

Brookline has organized the festival to promote community pride and interest in the town.

Local businesses and non-profit organizations will be participating in the festival, which will also have games, Brookline trivia and a tethered hot air balloon ride. Several pie eating contests will be held and food from local restaurants and food trucks will also be available.

The festival is free and shuttle bus service to the park will be provided throughout the day, according to Brookline’s Recreation director Lisa Paradis.

More information about the festival and shuttle bus service can be found online here.
