Tween girls' clothing store opens in Chestnut Hill
KGirl, a local destination for tween girls' clothing, is now open in Chestnut Hill.
A press release about the store describes it as "a special environment for tweens/teens--a place they can feel comfortable shopping with or without their moms."
KGirl features sizes 7 to 16, with some junior lines as well, and caters to "big girls, pre-teens, and teens who love fashion and don't want to look exactly like everyone else."
Apparel and accessory lines from Europe, the U.S., and local designers are offered at various price points and styles.
The new store joins the existing KGirl shop in Linden Square in Wellesley, which is paired with an associated Kenzie Kids store, catering to babies, young girls, and boys 2x to 6x.
The two stores were founded by Estelle Colgan and named after her daughter Kenzie, who is now involved in the business. Colgan's father and brother run Giblee's, a men's fashion store on Boston's North Shore.
According to the press release, Colgan is a youth fashion expert who looks for pieces that are "flexible, well-made, and make a statement."
KGirl is open seven days a week at 185 Grove Street in Chestnut Hill's Putterham Circle.
