Three indicted on Brookline/BU armed robberies
A Norfolk County grand jury has indicted three Boston teens in connection with robberies in Brookline in the vicinity of the Boston University campus this fall.
Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s office announced Thursday afternoon that Taquari Milton, 17, of Roxbury, has been indicted on three counts of armed robbery, one count of robbery and one count of being an accessory after the fact.
Two juveniles, a 15-year-old from Dorchester, and a 16-year-old from Roxbury, were indicted as youthful offenders, according to Morrissey's office.
The juveniles were each indicted on multiple counts of armed robbery. The Roxbury youth was also indicted on a count of being an accessory after the fact.
The three teens were each charged in connection to robberies on Sept. 25 and Oct. 5 in which a total of three Boston University students and a recent graduate of the university were robbed by armed teens.
Police arrested the three suspects in October.
No date has been set for their arraignments after the indictments, according to Morrissey’s office.
“We thank the Brookline Police department and Boston University Police Department for their work and cooperation in this investigation and putting this case together,” District Attorney Morrissey said in press release Thursday.
According to Morrissey’s office, the indictments supersede the district and juvenile court cases that had been pending against the teens and the defendants are now vulnerable to adult incarceration in a House of Correction or state prison if they are convicted. A judge could also impose juvenile sentences on the two juveniles if they are convicted.
