A 67-year-old Boston man was charged with three counts of open and gross lewdness after he allegedly exposed himself to juveniles twice in one week at the Coolidge Corner Library, said Brookline Police Lieutenant Philip Harrington.
The man first appeared at the Coolidge Corner Library on Sept. 21 around 4:30 p.m. and allegedly exposed himself to children.
He showed up to the library again on Friday at about 4:00 p.m. and exposed himself for a second time.
Brookline police were notified and arrested John Beyers, who lives on Commonwealth Avenue, Friday afternoon, Harrington said in an e-mail. Beyers was charged in connection with both incidents, police said.
Beyers is being held without bail at Brookline police station. He will be arraigned today in Brookline District Court, police said.
The Globe reported Sunday that, according to the state’s sex offender registry, Beyers has been convicted on nine counts of open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior related to seven separate incidents from June 2001 to August 2011.
In August 2010, he was charged with gross and indecent exposure for exposing himself to women at Reservoir Station on the D Branch of the Green Line.
