The Brookline Chamber of Commerce will hold a farewell party this month for executive director Harry Robinson, who has taken a teaching position at Wakefield High School.

The celebration will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, at the Barcelona Wine Bar at 1700 Beacon St.

Robinson has been the executive director for the Chamber for five years and initiated several projects, including a business breakfast with Gov. Deval Patrick, two green expos showcasing green business technologies, a “cash mob” to bring in consumers to the St. Mary’s area and collaborated with the Brookline Rotary on an annual golf tournament for charities.

Robinson will be teaching history in Wakefield, and in a press release from the Chamber announcing his departure he said leaving for a new job is bittersweet.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Chamber for the past five years and yet am thrilled to be embarking on a new adventure,” he said.

Chamber President Fran Berger said in the press release that Robinson has been instrumental in advancing awareness of the Chamber and driving its growth.

“We are grateful for Harry’s willingness to always go above and beyond and for his tireless dedication,” Berger said.

Because of limited space, anyone interested in attending the farewell celebration must pre-register on the Chamber’s website at www.brooklinechamber.com.
