The Burlington Special Education Parents Advisory Council is putting on a “Basic Rights Presentation” for parents tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the School Committee Room at the high school.

“The PAC aims to give parents a voice and the knowledge to use that voice intelligently and cooperatively to help their children,” said Dennis McCarron of the council. “The Basic Rights Presentation is the foundation of the knowledge that parents need to advocate for their children.”

McCarron said tonight’s event will also give caregivers a place to socialize and network.

“Parents of kids who struggle with various areas of life often feel isolated,” he said. “It doesn’t have to be that way. We can help each other through difficult situations.”
