Town clerk Amy E. Warfield is advising voters that absentee ballots for the March 6 presidential primary election are now available in her office. Any registered voter who cannot make it to the polls on election day due to being absent from town, physical disability, or religious belief is eligible to vote absentee.

Residents seeking to vote absentee must file an application for an absentee ballot with the clerk's office by noon on March 5. Applications are available in the clerk's office or on line at www.burlington.org. Residents can submit applications and vote in person at the clerk's office or by mail. But if a ballot is to be mailed, applications must be received far enough in advance to allow a ballot to be mailed and returned by the close of the poll.

Meanwhile, the public library will hold a free workshop tomorrow next Monday, Jan. 30 to demonstrate to patrons how to download eBook titles from the library?s web site to their ereader devices such as the Barnes and Noble Nook, the Amazon Kindle, and the Apple iPad. Workshop participants are invited to bring their devices to the session, which will be held from 2-4 p.m. Pre-registration is not required.
