30 Candidates vying for city seats in Cambridge's Nov. 8 election
Thirty candidates are running for seats on the Cambridge City Council or School Committee.
The city’s Board of Election Commissioners has certified signatures for the nomination of 19 candidates vying for City Council and 11 candidates for School Committee.
The city election is scheduled for Nov. 8,
Candidates for City Council are: Incumbents Leland Cheung, of Garden Street; Henrietta Davis, of Chestnut Street; Marjorie Decker, of Walden Street; Craig Kelley, of Saint Gerard Terrace; David Maher, of Appleton Street; Kenneth Reeves, of Harvard Street; Sam Seidel, of Maple Avenue; E. Denise Simmons of Harvard Street; Timothy Toomey of Sixth Street; and challengers Charles Marquardt of Rogers Street; Gary Mello of Franklin Street, Gregg Moree, of Fairfield Street; Matthew Nelson, of Pine Street, Jamake Pascual of Laurel Street; Thomas Stohlman, Jr., of Channing Street, Minka VanBeuzekom, of Essex Street; Larry Ward, of Broadway; and James Williamson of Jackson Place.
School Committee candidates in the race are: Incumbents Alfred Fantini, of Canal Park; Richard Harding Jr., of Windsor Street; Marc McGovern, of Pleasant Street; Patricia Nolan of Huron Avenue; Nancy Tauber, of Chestnut Street; Alice Turkel of Upton Street; and challengers Bill Forster, of Lexington Avenue; Joyce Gerber, of Fairfield Street; John Holland, of Normandy Terrace; Mervan Osborne, of Chestnut Street; and Charles Lewis Stead Sr., of Putnam Avenue.
