Cambridge’s 19th Annual Cambridge Carnival International festival and parade will be held Saturday in Kendall Square.

The Caribbean and Mardi Gras-style festival is a colorful and festive celebration rooted in African traditions, and will be held from noon to 7 p.m. It is one of the largest festivals in Cambridge attracting more than 150,000 spectators to the free event.

The festival’s grand costume parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. near the Charles River at River Street and run through Massachusetts Avenue to Kendall Square near MIT.

The festivities in Kendall Square feature live music, a KidsFest, ethnic foods and global crafts.

More information about the carnival and parade can be found online at www.cambridgecarnival.org.
