Cambridge is teaming with the nonprofit MassBike to offer a series of how-to workshops about bicycling in an urban environment.

The city will offer four cycling workshops that will be free to Cambridge residents beginning next Monday, May 14, with a workshop at 6:30 p.m. at the Tobin School at 197 Vassal Lane.

The hour-long classes will give tips to anyone wishing to bicycle for doing their errands, commuting or traveling with kids. Participants aren’t required to have a bicycle or any experience and will be eligible for a free bike helmet.

To reserve a spot in one of the workshops, Contact John Pelletier at jpelletier@cambridgema.gov or 617/349-4631.

Other workshop times and locations are:

Tuesday, May 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the Millers River Apartments at 669 Cambridge St. East Cambridge.

Tuesday, June 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Andrew Peabody School at 70 Rindge Ave., North Cambridge.

Thursday, June 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Central Square Library at 45 Pearl St. Cambridgeport.
