More than 100,000 people are expected at the 20th Annual Cambridge Carnival in Kendall Square Sunday for a costume parade, festival and music.

The free, Caribbean style carnival will run from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, in Kendall Square, with the grand costume parade beginning at 12:30 p.m. The festival is one of the largest in Cambridge each year.

The 1.3 mile parade route will begin near the Charles River at River Street, run through Massachusetts Avenue and end in Kendall Square near MIT.

Live music and a KidsFest will begin at noon in the carnival in Kendall Square, which will also feature ethnic foods and crafts.

The carnival will have three music stages featuring several groups, including an international stage, a rhythm stage and a viewing stage where costume groups will appear before judges.
