Cambridge has launched a three-week campaign calling for residents to ask questions about the cause and effects of domestic violence.
The campaign named “21 Days of Questions 365 Days of Action” was launched Wednesday in an effort to start a discussion and raise awareness about domestic violence in Cambridge.
Members of the community are being asked to donate their questions about everything from why domestic violence occurs to how it can be stopped.
The questions will be gathered through Nov. 21, and the city will sort the questions into categories and the key questions be presented back to the campaign participants via gatherings, online and through various types of media.
City leaders and the community members will then examine ways to implement new strategies to address domestic violence and determine the roles of everyone in making the city a better place.
The community engagement project was developed by City Councilor Marjorie Decker’s office in collaboration with the Transition House, Engage the Power, several city departments, and local universities and other organizations.
"This is an opportunity to really engage people around the entire city to have a conversation about an issue that affects most of us," Decker said in a press release announcing the campaign.
The campaign will be advertised with posters, billboards, through social media and a 30-second public service announcement is available here.
