Cambridge Police say thanks for successful Secret Santa drive

Donations to this year’s Secret Santa gift drive enabled Cambridge Police to deliver gift bags to more than 450 seniors.

Police said in a press release Thursday that the sixth-year of the department’s Secret Santa drive was its most successful.

“Thank you to all who contributed to Secret Santa for Seniors, especially all of the community members, police officers and their families who volunteered their time to help deliver gift bags on Christmas Eve,” said Cambridge Police Sergeant Kathy Murphy, who helped organize the gift drive.

Police delivered 457 gift bags full of holiday treats. The department also thanked a number of local businesses and organizations that donated to the gift drive, including
The CambridgeSide Galleria Mall, Wholefoods Market, Vineyard Church, Phil’s Towing, East Cambridge Savings Bank, M.IT., Lesley University, PRO-EMS, Trader Joe’s, U-Haul, Cambridge Housing Authority, Cambridge Police Superior Officers Association, Cambridge Police Patrol Officers Association, Mt. Auburn Hospital employees, and City of Cambridge employees.
