Canton police log: Feb. 4 to 10

The following information was taken from the Canton police logs. Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Monday, Feb. 4
Theft: At 1:34 p.m., police received a report of theft from American Auto Transport on Turnpike Street. A laptop was taken.

Tuesday, Feb. 5
Theft: At 2:04 p.m., police received a report of theft from Algonquin Road. Jewelry was missing from the home.

Theft: At 4:57 p.m., police received a report of theft from Washington Street. Mail was missing out of the mailbox.

Malicious damage: At 9:50 p.m., police received a report of malicious damage on Randolph Street. A rock was thrown through a living room window.

Wednesday, Feb. 6
Arrest: At 11:22 a.m., police arrested Robert Hooke, 70, of Holbrook and charged him with violation of an abuse prevention order. Hooke was arrested on Shawmut Road.

Theft: At 2:27 p.m., police received a report of theft from Rite Aid Pharmacy on Washington Street. Police are investigating counterfeit bills being used.

Thursday, Feb. 7
Break-in: At 1:48 p.m., police received a report of a house break on Dedham Street. The back door was damaged by forced entry and jewelry was missing from the home.

Theft: At 6:30 p.m., police received a report of theft from Blue Hill Village on Randolph Street. There was no sign of break-in, but rings and cash totaling about $900 were missing.

Break-in: At 9:43 p.m., police received a report of an attempted house break at Devonshire Drive. The suspect entered the home through unlocked back sliding door, but did not know the homeowner was there. The owner, thinking it was one of his children, yelled down and the suspect left. The homeowner watched the person get in his car and drive away.

Theft: At 11:59 p.m., police received a report of a theft from Canton Sportsplex on Carver Circle. Three wallets were stolen in unlocked lockers.

Sunday, Feb. 10

Theft: At 2:05 p.m., police received a report of theft from Neponset Street. Jewelry worth about $1,300 was missing from the home.

Theft: At 6:09 p.m., police received a report of a phone stolen in Boston being in Canton on Andrea Drive. The owner of the phone has an app that allows her to find the phone if it is missing and that is the address that emerged.
